Lymm Church

Lymm Church in Cheshire has several churches for assorted religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Lymm is no exception.

Regrettably church attendance has been dipping for the last 50 years in the UK, with 15% of the population attending at least once per month, still Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the population.

We think the explanation for the decline is in simple terms that people don't have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the economy in a bad way it's straightforward to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our estimation the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the staple values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you reflect on all the good things that Churches represent in our Lymm community then it's truly astonishing numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Lymm to be a great location to inhabit, where inhabitants get along, they assist each other in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Lymm church and make a request change, you want to help, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your community chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly anybody desires to work to a greater goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, humble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, various people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men training to be priests, considering his anti-gay rhetoric in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful position to be - a good place to contemplate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest headstone..i.e. the earliest date, that is a game that can keep kids pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the cemetery.
