Gerrards Cross Church

Gerrards Cross Church in Buckinghamshire has various churches for diverse religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is regular for a town to have more than one church and Gerrards Cross is no exception.

Alas church attendance has been dropping for the last fifty years in the UK, with 15% of the populace attending at least once per month, in spite of everything Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the people.

We think the reason for the decline is in simple terms that people don't believe in God any more, with wars raging across the world and the economy in a bad way it is straightforward to comprehend peoples lack of faith. In our judgment the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the core values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Gerrards Cross community then it is truly startling figures are going down. Surely we all want our Gerrards Cross to be a fantastic spot to inhabit, where persons get along, they assist each other in times of hardship and people offer to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Gerrards Cross church and demand change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your district chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because hardly a soul desires to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let's get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as community schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, meager and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than six hundred years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, numerous people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently quit after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, considering his anti-gay words in the past, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very peaceful place to be - a good spot to ruminate on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest memorial..i.e. the earliest date, that is a diversion that can keep children pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
