Binfield Church

Binfield Church in Berkshire has a lot of churches for distinct religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Binfield is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been falling for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the population attending at least once per month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the populace.

We think the reason for the decline is in basic terms that people don't believe in God any more, with violence raging across the planet and the economy in a bad way it is easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the staple values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you think on all the good things that Churches represent in our Binfield community then it's really astonishing figures are going down. Surely we all want our Binfield to be a splendid spot to dwell, where people get along, they help one another in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Binfield church and plea for change, you want to assist, and you think it is only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. This country is on its knees because nobody wants to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get organized and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have worked together with other organisations such as resident schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, lowly and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a good light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light recently with the pope resigning, the first pope in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, countless people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien in recent times deserted after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, bearing in mind his anti-gay words in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet space to be - a good spot to cogitate on the things that are going on in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as children was to find the oldest tombstone..i.e. the earliest date, that's a game that can keep children pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they walk/run round the graveyard.
