Bradley Stoke Church

Bradley Stoke Church in Avon has numerous churches for diverse religious faiths such as Anglican, Baptist and Methodist. It is common for a town to have more than one church and Bradley Stoke is no exception.

Sadly church attendance has been dipping for the last 50 years in the United Kingdom, with 15% of the populace presiding at least once per month, notwithstanding Atheists and Agnostics are still in a minority, representing 33% of the people.

We think the reason for the decline is just that people do not have faith in God any more, with violence raging across the world and the wealth of the nation in a bad way it's easy to appreciate peoples lack of faith. In our opinion the Church needs to be re-branded, if you think of the fundamental values of Church such as togetherness, family, marriage and community leaving aside God for a second! If you contemplate on all the good things that Churches stand for in our Bradley Stoke community then it is actually astonishing numbers are going down. Surely we all want our Bradley Stoke to be a fantastic location to inhabit, where people get along, they help each other in times of need and people give to each other without asking anything back in return. So what we are asking is for you to go along to your Bradley Stoke church and demand change, you want to assist, and you think it's only right and proper that the rest of your neighborhood chip in and help with things. The UK is on its knees because nobody desires to work to a better goal...it is time for change...come on people..let us get as one and make this happen

Churches in the past and future have collaborated with other organisations such as neighborhood schools, groups such as the beavers, cubs and scouts as well as being prominent in assisting other groups of inhabitants such as the lonely, feeble and abused. The church is seen as doing good causes which sees them in a nice light.

Churches have been seen in a dim light of late with the pope resigning, the first pope to do so in more than 600 years, and nobody was entirely sure of the reason why, loads of people have speculated that it is not just a matter of the pope getting older and not being able to carry out his job to the fullest.

The scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien recently resigned after admitting sexually inappropriate moves to young men schooling to be priests, in view of his anti-homosexual rhetoric in bygone times, this was seen as "do as I say not as I do"!

On the lighter side of things churches are seen as a very quiet place to be - a good spot to reflect on the things that are happening in your life at the present moment.

A game we used to play as kids was to find the oldest headstone..i.e. the earliest date, that's a diversion that can keep children pleased for a while as well as giving them good exercise as they run/walk round the graveyard.
